Getting Started
Can I really buy a sauna online?+

Yes. We designed the VIM ordering experience so you can configure and purchase directly on our website without forms or required consultations. If you prefer to speak with someone before ordering, we're happy to help. Reach out at hello@vimsauna.com.

What happens after I place my order?+

After your deposit is collected, our team will confirm your configuration and provide your estimated production timeline. You'll then receive an invoice for your 90% balance before production begins. Once confirmed, your sauna enters production and we'll keep you updated throughout.

Ordering and Payment
How does payment work?+

A 10% deposit is collected at checkout. This is fully refundable prior to your production payment. Your remaining 90% balance is due before production begins. We offer a discount or complimentary products on balances paid by ACH bank transfer.

Is my deposit refundable?+

Yes. Your 10% deposit is fully refundable at any time prior to your production payment being confirmed. Once production has begun, all payments are non-refundable.

When is the remaining balance due?+

Your balance is due before production begins. We'll send your invoice once your configuration has been confirmed along with your estimated delivery window.

Can I make changes after placing my order?+

Changes can be requested before your production payment is confirmed. Once production has begun, changes are not possible. Contact hello@vimsauna.com as soon as possible if you need to modify your order.

Do you offer financing?+

Yes. Financing options are available through our lending partners. Contact us at hello@vimsauna.com to learn more.

What payment methods do you accept?+

We accept card payments at checkout for your deposit and ACH bank transfer or card for your balance. We offer a discount on balances paid by ACH.

Shipping and Delivery
Where do you ship?+

We ship throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. For international shipping including Canada, contact us at hello@vimsauna.com.

How long does production and shipping take?+

Production lead times vary by model and configuration and are provided as estimates at the time of your order. We'll provide tracking information once your unit is handed to the carrier.

How is my sauna delivered?+

Sauna units ship via common carrier freight. Delivery is curbside to the nearest accessible point at your property. Someone must be present to accept and sign for the delivery.

Can my sauna be delivered fully assembled?+

Depending on the model and your site conditions, fully assembled delivery may be available. This typically requires coordinating the use of a crane or loader to position the sauna on-site, and includes a pre-delivery site assessment and additional costs. Reach out at hello@vimsauna.com early in the process to discuss whether this option works for your project.

What should I do when my sauna arrives?+

Inspect every component carefully at the time of delivery before the carrier leaves. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt. If you identify damage or an incorrect part, contact hello@vimsauna.com with photos immediately. Claims must be submitted before any parts have been moved from the delivery location or before installation has begun.

Do accessories ship separately?+

Yes. Accessories ship separately via FedEx or UPS and may arrive before or after your sauna. You'll receive separate tracking information.

Assembly and Installation
Does the sauna arrive assembled?+

No. VIM saunas are delivered unassembled. We have engineered our units so the assembly process is clean and organized for a professional installation team. Everything arrives clearly labeled with detailed, thorough instructions. Upon special request and depending on the install location, some sauna models can be delivered assembled. How long does assembly take?+

Assembly time varies by model. The Oblique is designed to be installed in 4 hours, while the Cubist and Bezier require more time but within one day. A professional installation team should find the process straightforward. We're happy to help you plan. Reach out at hello@vimsauna.com.

Do you recommend professional installation?+

Yes, strongly. Our saunas are precision-engineered products and professional installation ensures the build meets the standard the materials deserve. What site preparation is needed?+

Your sauna requires a level, stable, load-bearing base. A concrete slab, concrete footings, or a deck all work well depending on your site and local requirements. Placement on pavers is possible, though we recommend concrete footings for long-term stability and precise leveling. We'll provide site preparation guidance after your order is confirmed.

What electrical requirements does a VIM sauna need?+

All VIM electric sauna heaters require a 220/230 volt dedicated circuit, the same type used for a dryer or electric range. This must be installed by a licensed electrician prior to use. How does the ventilation system work?+

VIM saunas use a passive ventilation system. Fresh air is drawn in through an intake positioned near the base of the heater, where oxygen enters at the point of highest heat activity. An adjustable exhaust vent on the opposite wall allows CO₂ to exit without disrupting the heat near the benches. This configuration creates a subtle circular airflow that supports consistent steam quality throughout the session.

Do you offer wood fired sauna options?+

Custom orders may include wood-fired heater configurations. Contact us at hello@vimsauna.com to discuss a custom project.

What is the difference between your models?+

The Oblique is our flagship model featuring a distinctive angled profile with cross-laminated timber construction, built in Wisconsin. The Bezier and Cubist are architectural models with bold, modern profiles built in Austin, Texas. Visit our product pages to compare or contact us with questions.

What cladding options are available?+

We offer Black Spruce, Kodiak Spruce Thermal, Aspen Thermal, Ash Thermal, and Corten Steel, depending on the model. Cladding options are presented on each product page.

What heater options are available?+

We offer a selection of electric heaters matched to the interior volume of each sauna model. All heaters require a 220/230 volt dedicated electrical circuit.

How long do your saunas last?+

Our saunas are designed and built to last for decades with proper care. Longevity depends on maintenance regularity, your climate, and frequency of use.

Can I use my sauna in any climate?+

Yes. Our saunas are built to perform in a range of climates. Proper maintenance including periodic treatment of exterior cladding is important in all climates.

Can I customize my sauna?+

For customizations beyond our configurator, including non-standard dimensions, materials, or architectural integrations, contact us at hello@vimsauna.com to discuss a custom project.

Returns and Warranty
Can I return my sauna?+

We do not accept returns on delivered sauna units. If your sauna arrives with a manufacturing defect or an incorrect part, we will work with you to repair or replace the affected component. See our Return and Refund Policy for full details.

What warranty is included?+

VIM saunas come with a 3-year limited warranty on manufacturing defects. Heaters are covered by their manufacturer warranty. See our full Warranty page for details.

How do I care for my sauna?+

Regular maintenance is essential. This includes cleaning interior surfaces periodically, applying exterior wood treatments on a regular schedule, keeping drains and ventilation clear, and protecting the sauna from standing water. A full care and maintenance guide will be provided with your order.
