Infrared “saunas” have gained traction in recent years due to their cheap cost. However, in our view they don’t deliver the heat intensity that’s required for a true sauna experience with all the related health benefits. We believe infrared cabins offer some value, but we're advocates for the traditional Finnish sauna that gives you that elemental core heat experience. The difference is perhaps akin to a traditional espresso shot and a capsule machine in a hotel room. Same idea, vastly different quality.
Barrel saunas have gained even more notoriety as the preferred entry-level option for those looking to experience the benefits of sauna culture, but they are extremely difficult to assemble and deliver inconsistent heat due to their inefficient shape. Ergonomically, they encourage a hunched posture. Their aesthetics are closer to a “Hobbit-Hole” than a modern design.
The VIM Bezier Sauna brings the barrel into the modern realm via unparalleled value, efficiency, ergonomics and aesthetics.
Note: If you live in a climate like Austin, Texas, be sure to consider how cedar saunas will handle the intense Texas sun, not to mention rain and hail. We have seen many lower cost sauna kits practically fall apart after a few years outdoors.
On the higher end, there are full custom saunas. We admire the creativity and range of design choices for full custom, but the price typically starts at $65k and goes up from there.
We wanted to offer something in between the disposable kits and full custom, with just enough customization to reflect your own style, but removing the endless complexity and long timelines associated with full custom.
